About Dan Duster

Dan Duster is a motivational speaker and facilitator. He is known as Dan Duster the Barrier Buster – helping people Obliterate Obstacles on their Path to Prosperity!

He influences people across the nation by showing them how to develop their leadership skills, communicate effectively and realize their potential.

Dan’s passions are youth empowerment, social justice and community development. As the great grandson of Ida B. Wells, he talks about her struggles and triumphs in the late 1800’s to motivate audiences to overcome the obstacles we face today and Stand Up against injustices in the workplace and our communities. He is in the process of creating the Ida B. Wells Leadership Institute to work with youth in developing their confidence, speaking and leadership skills.

His business experience includes working in sales for companies that include IBM, Coca-Cola and Verizon. He’s owned his own company for the past 18 years where he has worked with small businesses as well as corporations to increase sales, improve productivity and create high performance teams. He’s helped entrepreneurs and affinity groups to do strategic planning, mentor and leadership development and effective networking.

Dan is the author of Peaceful Selling, a book that shows entrepreneurs how to structure their sales process and grow their sales. He also developed a program called METRICS for Success to help small business owners, operate more efficiently, dramatically increase revenue and successfully transition out of the business.

Dan was selected several times to be in Who’s Who in Black Chicago, and was recognized as one of the “Men of Excellence” by the Chicago Defender. He has spoken at the U.S. Senate and appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, BBC.com, CNN.com, in the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post and many other stations and publications.
